About Us

Wallaloo Park merino stud was founded in 1978, currently running 2500 ewes. Utilizing the latest technology to enhance genetic gain, through both ASBV’s and stringent visual classing, Wallaloo Park is at the forefront of the merino and poll merino industry. A renowned leader of innovation, depth and service to the industry. Impacting both stud and commercial growers across Australia and abroad.

Farming has been in our family for six—hopefully soon seven—generations, with roots tracing back to the 1840s when our ancestors first settled in the Wimmera. Wallaloo Park, established in the 1850s, has long been a cornerstone of Merino genetics in the region, where quality wool and resilient sheep have always been a focus. The stud itself was founded by John and Jenny in 1979 and has continued to grow steadily year after year. Based in Marnoo, we are passionate about producing 19 to 21 micron Merino genetics, suited to both local conditions and markets abroad. With Australia’s Merino gene pool being incredibly diverse and complex, we’re proud to contribute elite genetics that perform reliably and profitably in a range of production systems.
